woolenmitten is a trans-nonbinary electronic producer from Brisbane, now based in Saigon. The name comes from Woolen Mittens, an experimental duo they started as a teenager with their late best friend Jim. woolenmitten is one half of a separated pair.

Since 2020 they have self-released 16 records, writing, recording, mixing, mastering and designing every one. Each is built around a concept: a field guide to an imaginary lizard, a wandering cassette tape, a house that becomes a labyrinth. The sound runs from dusty trip-hop instrumentals and jungle breaks to glitchy ambient and dark score, shaped by early lessons from composer Philip Houghton and by the street sounds of Saigon. They are part of the city's beatmaker community and are developing a live set with poets.
